I came to L’Etoile du Nord French Immersion because… I value language immersion and cultural diversity for our family, and for the academic and social development of my children. I love how Étoile is such a global community!
I want to contribute to my L’Etoile du Nord French Immersion community by… Helping steward the monetary resources to support the school community and being an active participant in the PTO board conversations.
I will contribute to the diversity, equity, and inclusivity of the board by… Continuing to consider the impact of our choices and events to ensure the entirety of our school community is represented and supported, and finding ways the PTO can provide additional support for those that are currently or have historically been underserved.

I will contribute to the diversity, equity, and inclusivity of the board by… Using my neurodivergent brain to think creatively, stay organized, and dive deep into helpful research. Also, I am great at making bulleted lists.
I came to L’Etoile du Nord French Immersion because… We came to L’Etoile for the French and we found so much more. As a family with French roots in Minnesota, it is important for us that our kids speak the language. Not only are our children becoming bilingual, but we have become a part of a very special global community at L’Etoile. As a former French immersion teacher myself, I was drawn to the school because of all the amazing benefits of an immersion education. We love our diverse, global community and we are so proud that our children are learning and growing at L’Etoile.
I want to contribute to my L’Etoile du Nord French Immersion community by… During my time on the PTO board I have worked hard to serve and enrich the school to the best of my ability. I am passionate about growing our community and spreading awareness about our incredible, world-class program. Marketing and outreach will be a major focus if I am elected to another term as President. I absolutely love our native French-speaking intern program and it’s one of my goals to continue to expand and be a part of the effort that staffs our school with our amazing interns. One of the things I enjoy most is creating social events that are inclusive and help create a sense of fun and community. I would love to be able to add more events that provide an opportunity for our community to come together in joy and connection. I love being a part of the many ways our school comes together, whether it’s school beautification, staff appreciation, Open Gym, outreach events, and more. I welcome the opportunity to be a strong advocate for our program whenever possible, and I am excited for the future of our school.
I will contribute to the diversity, equity, and inclusivity of the board by… I am so proud that our family is a part of this diverse, global community of learners. I have a growth mindset always, and I work to identify and check my biases. It is very important to me to give the community many ways to have their voices and perspectives heard-and then to follow that with relentless action. We are all stronger when we come together with a spirit of collaboration and partnership. Practically, I have helped lead the work to make our school events welcoming and inclusive spaces for all families. I am excited to begin working on a partnership with our school social worker to start a mutual aid program available to all families. I have collaborated with families and board members to start support groups that champion underrepresented communities. I have worked with our intern candidate recruiting partners, and have established partnerships with new recruiting partners, to bring more candidates from diverse backgrounds to our school. I am very excited to continue this work-it brings me so much joy to have the diverse Francophone world represented in our intern pool. Thank you to the community for allowing me to serve you, I am grateful to be able to continue this work together.
I came to L’Etoile du Nord French Immersion because… L’Etoile came highly recommended by our Kindergarten teacher! We didn’t know anything about the French language at the time, but we knew we wanted immersion for our children We joined a school tour and instantly connected with the classroom energy, positive interaction with staff and the welcoming community. We were so grateful to feel connected to L’Etoile from the beginning!
I want to contribute to my L’Etoile du Nord French Immersion community by… Making and encouraging connections. I have met so many kind, welcoming, resourceful and engaged children and adults in my time at L’Etoile. As communications chair I want to continue to encourage community connections by sharing news and events – keeping the community informed is my top priority!
I will contribute to the diversity, equity, and inclusivity of the board by… Promising to always be a good listener, remain open-minded and keep inclusivity at the forefront of our decisions as a team. As an Indigenous woman I believe I can bring a unique perspective of intentionality and collaboration to the Board. I will always continue my growth and keep an open perspective to understanding the community needs. I will be the best liaison between you, the school community, and the Board that I can be!
